Conditions of carriage

Diogo Melo (diogomelo.com) is a product designer based in Porto, Portugal.

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website. Clarity collects:

• Mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behaviour
• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Device and browser information (screen size, browser type, operating system)
• Approximate geographic location (city/country level only)

Clarity does not collect passwords, payment information, or personally identifiable information beyond what is listed above.

To tell you how far you are from Porto, the site asks a location lookup service for your approximate location, derived from your IP address (city level only). Nothing is stored: the result is used to write one line on the page and kept only for the current browser session.

We use this data to improve our website, understand user behaviour, and optimise the design and content of the site. This is our legitimate interest as a design studio.

We collect analytics data based on your consent. You are shown a cookie banner when you first visit the site. Clarity is only loaded after you click “Accept”. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage.

Clarity retains data for up to 13 months. After that, historical data is automatically deleted.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing
• Withdraw consent at any time

We use Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052, USA). Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

For the location lookup we use geojs.io, with ipwho.is as a fallback. They receive your IP address and return an approximate city location. No account, no cookie and no data stored.

On case studies with video, Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc.) serves the player, but only after you press play. Until then no request is made to Vimeo; when you press play, Vimeo receives your IP address and sets its own cookies. We use Vimeo's Do Not Track parameter.

Embedded YouTube videos (youtube-nocookie.com) load only when you press play. Until then no request is made to YouTube. When you press play, YouTube receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.
